Zlatan Plavac Mali Grand Select, 2013

PRACTICING ORGANIC The self-proclaimed Grand Cru is produced from the premium juice of more than fifty-year-old Plavac Mali vines, and aged for 18 months in new barriques. It is one of the highest quality examples of Plavac Mali available in Croatia, and produced in limited quantities. This big, inky wine offers heady black fruit on the nose, along with a mild sweet oak. Strong tannins and a full body support incredibly concentrated black cherry, plum, and blueberry fruit on the palate, along with earth and tobacco. The oak is well integrated, for an excellent overall balance. This wine will develop tremendously with age.

Zlatan Plavac Sibenik, 2015

One of Croatia’s best examples of Dalmatian coastal southern red wine, it is a little less bitter than your average classic Plavac at this price point, with it being completely dry with low residual unfermented sugar. The color is purple-burgundy with blue reflections, and the delightful aroma is unaccented, restrained, and discreet so it ends up being pleasant to all connoisseurs of good red wine. Its freshness and medium-body aroma gives the Zlatan Plavac Šibenik distinct aromas of the Plavac Mali varietal, most of which are darker cherry and raspberry fruits, currants, herbs, laced with the structure of the easily recognizable fine tannins and earthiness that are ever-so-present in Plavac Mali wines.

Zlatan Posip, 2020

PRACTICING ORGANIC From the pristine Croatian coast, comes this Pošip, an ancient indigenous Croatian varietal that is extremely popular in its home country. With one of the oldest wine histories in the world, this unique Croatian Pošip has a straw-golden color, with denseness that leaves a thick trail in the glass. Aged in stainless steel, it is loaded with bright, full, and distinctive flavors, with aromas of dried apricots and figs. A bit leaner, fresher, and more expressive than what is normally found in Pošip from Čara, Korčula Island, it is a delightful gastronomical experience when paired with Mediterranean-styled seafood, dried or smoked ham, aged cheeses, and grilled pork chops.
