Enjingi Rajinski Riesling, 2006
Country: Croatian
Year: 2006
Type: White wine
Grape: Riesling
In the slim eastern stretch of Croatia, between Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina, is the region of Slavonia and the Valis Aurea, the Golden Valley. It is here, in Croatia’s breadbasket, that Ivan Enjingi creates his masterful, expressive, award-winning wines. His vineyards include some of the best in the Golden Valley around Kutjevo, where white wine is predominant. German Riesling is a late-ripening grape, and grown well it is capable of producing complex wines that age. Enjingi Rhine Riesling is just that! This late-harvest wine offers concentrated fruit and honey flavors and a silky, almost oily texture, and finishes with a musky earthiness.
